Enriching Your Life: Going on a Pilgrimage

There are times when it feels like life is taking a toll on you. And it’s all right, there are many ways to go against the stress. Going on a vacation is one of them. If you want to combine it with some spirituality, you might as well go on a pilgrimage.

Going on a pilgrimage, there are some things you may want to keep in mind that will make your trip much easier, and in turn, much more memorable. The following tips below will come in handy, whether you are going on an LDS Holy Land Tour or a personal pilgrimage:

Pack Light

The worst that you can do when travelling is packing all the things you’ve thought you will need once you are in your destination. Do away with such dilemmas by knowing what you really need first. List down all the things you will strongly need. All other things you can get from hotels, leave them behind.

Stay Cool

Pilgrimages are all about long walks, and most of them happen under the broad daylight. As such, you should mind your attire. Go for thin and loose clothing. Don’t forget to bring a hat or cap. As you walk, make sure that you always have your bottle of water with you.

Write It Down

As you meditate along the way, you might want to take some of the things you have realized. Get a journal and write about your enlightenment. If you are quite visual, take pictures of the significant places and things you have encountered. Doing so will make sure that the memories will last a long time.

These are just some of the things to keep in mind if you want to go on a pilgrimage. You know what’s a better idea? Take someone you love with you.
